Good Friday

The Importance of Good Friday

Good Friday is the solemn day we remember the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. It is a day of reflection, mourning, and awe. On this day:

  • Jesus bore the weight of the world’s sin in love and obedience.

  • The veil in the temple was torn, symbolizing that through His sacrifice, the barrier between God and humanity was removed.

  • The cross became the symbol of redemption, hope, and eternal life.

Good Friday calls us to quiet reverence, to remember the cost of grace, and to sit with Jesus in His suffering—knowing that Sunday is coming.

Good Friday Prayer

Lord Jesus,
Today we stand at the foot of the cross, hearts heavy with sorrow and gratitude.

You suffered for us, bled for us, and gave everything out of love. In Your silence, You spoke volumes. In Your surrender, You claimed victory.

Help us never to forget the depth of Your love. Teach us to carry our own crosses with courage, and to see Your presence even in the darkest valleys.

May we live in a way that honors Your sacrifice, walking in humility, compassion, and mercy.

Stay with us, Jesus.
Amen

Good Friday Scripture

Isaiah 53:5 (NIV):

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
